Save and apply an account chart theme
Share series colors, scales and chart layout preferences across charts.
Choose a chart theme for appearance
Account chart themes store reusable visual choices for native charts. They are separate from the application's overall palette, a Map layout, instrument-specific drawings and a saved viewport. Use a chart theme when you want consistent candle, wick, scale or supported layout appearance across charts without changing the instruments being analyzed. The application palette still controls neutral canvas, grid, axis and label treatment where the host follows it. This distinction prevents a visual change from being mistaken for a market-data or historical-navigation setting.
Save and apply a named theme
Open the native Chart settings control from a chart with the appearance you want to reuse. Inspect the settings categories before saving a theme so its purpose remains clear.
- Open Chart settings on the native chart.
- Adjust the relevant Symbol, Status line, Scales and lines, Canvas or Events choices.
- Open Templates / Account chart themes.
- Enter a meaningful name and choose Save and apply to all charts when that is your intended scope.
- Review another matching native chart to confirm the appearance changed while its instrument and observations stayed appropriate.
Use theme categories with a specific goal
Symbol settings control supported candle or series styling. Status line determines which available information is presented alongside the symbol and feed state. Scales and lines affect axis and line presentation; Canvas affects the chart surface and related layout choices. Events and session categories provide supported display options. Change one category at a time when investigating readability. For example, increasing line contrast can solve a visibility issue without moving the price range, while an unreadable status value may need a status-line choice rather than a different candle type.
Switch, duplicate or return to the default appearance
The account-theme menu lets you select saved themes and return to Default chart theme. Copy a theme before making a variation if the existing one remains useful. Name variants by their purpose rather than by a current instrument, unless the appearance is deliberately tailored to that use. A copied visual theme does not duplicate every widget's indicator configuration or historical position. After switching, check the actual chart presentation and saved state. If another chart keeps a different visual style, confirm that it is the native host and the intended account theme is active.
Keep drawings and navigation separate
Drawings belong to exact instrument documents, so choosing a chart theme should not copy a line from one futures expiry or option contract onto another. Viewport ranges and live-follow spacing belong to chart navigation. A theme switch therefore should not be used as a workaround for returning to the newest candle or finding an offscreen annotation. Use Reset recent chart view, AUTO or drawing visibility controls for those tasks. This separation allows a stable visual preference to be reused while each chart keeps its own meaningful instrument and analysis position.
Understand session shading as presentation
A theme can contain supported session-highlighting or display schedule choices. Shading makes regions easier to identify visually, but it does not redefine the exchange calendar, actual data eligibility or retained session coverage. An overnight color does not prove that an option root trades in that interval. Optional implied SPX or NDX regions remain modeled where labeled, regardless of their shading color. If the colored area and a selected session appear inconsistent, compare the display schedule with the tool's actual session and source rather than treating the color as the authoritative market calendar.
Troubleshoot persistence and conflicting changes
Themes are account-owned records saved with revisions. Wait for a successful save before evaluating reload behavior, and confirm that you reopened the same signed-in account. If two browsers edit one theme, review the current saved state when a conflict appears. A local visual change is not proof that the server accepted the newest revision. When reporting a theme issue, include the theme name, affected settings category, application palette and whether Save and apply to all charts was used. Explain separately if drawings, viewports or data changed unexpectedly so support can distinguish appearance persistence from another chart resource.
