Pan, scale, pause and resume Order Flow

Inspect retained captures without losing a clear route back to the live edge.

Separate time navigation, price scaling and update state

Order Flow has independent choices for the visible time window, the visible price range and whether the displayed chart follows current capture. A manual price zoom can leave live executions running, while a historical time pan can preserve a fixed range. Pause retains a displayed frame for inspection. These states should be read together rather than described universally as 'frozen.' Start with the selected contract, Mode, Lookback and Interval, then decide whether you want a closer view of current activity or a bounded historical inspection.

Practice the main navigation gestures

Use deliberate gestures on the intended surface. The PRICE column controls price scaling, while the plot can navigate both axes.

  1. Drag the chart or use left and right arrows to pan time within or beyond the accepted visible range.
  2. Use the wheel over the plot to zoom around the pointer.
  3. Drag or scroll the PRICE column to change its price range; dragging down expands the range and dragging up contracts it around the starting pointer price.
  4. Use up and down arrows to pan price when the chart has the relevant focus.
  5. Inspect the resulting time bounds and Auto scale price state before comparing quantities.

Restore automatic price fitting explicitly

Manual price gestures disable automatic price scaling so the range you chose is respected. Double-click PRICE, press Home, enable Auto scale price in View or Settings, or select Live to restore automatic fitting. This affects price presentation, not the source evidence. A full-session profile can extend beyond recent candles, and a deliberately narrow manual range can hide older distribution rows. If the newest market seems missing, restore fitting before assuming current observations stopped. The same price axis aligns Price, Order Book, Volume Profile and Delta so a scale change should remain consistent across those columns.

Use Pause for a stable displayed inspection

Open Settings to use the Pause control when you want to retain the latest displayed frame. This is useful for inspecting a bubble, comparing footprint cells or preparing a chart image. A paused display is not an immutable replay tape and does not establish that every layer is a synchronized historical reconstruction. The current book and capture inputs have their own semantics. When you resume through Live, the view returns to rolling capture and automatic price scaling. Read the visible state before comparing a paused screenshot with a later live value.

Understand what happens when you pan beyond captured bounds

A time pan can freeze an explicit window. When its settled bounds extend beyond already accepted history, the application can request bounded additional evidence while retaining the visible chart. The supported visible duration remains capped, and older unavailable intervals stay blank. Price-only gestures reuse the existing capture for immediate interaction; a settled out-of-range historical price need can request additional eligible depth after the time capture is accepted. Panning is therefore not a command to reconstruct unobserved exchange history, and a smooth gesture does not prove that every resulting interval is covered.

Use Lookback, Live and refresh for their intended purposes

Changing Lookback chooses a duration and resets the view into the corresponding live-range workflow. Interval changes candle aggregation separately. Live clears the manual historical range and restores current following and automatic price scale. Refresh data requests another capture for the intended selection, but it should not be used as a substitute for understanding a manual viewport. For example, if valid current candles are simply outside a saved narrow price range, repeated refreshes can return the same evidence without making it visible. Restore the relevant navigation state first.

Troubleshoot jumps, gaps and apparent pauses

Record whether the issue began after a plot drag, PRICE gesture, arrow key, Pause action or Lookback change. Check the visible time window, Auto scale price and source coverage. If a pending historical request retains the last accepted picture, wait for its outcome before panning to another target. A blank depth interval can coexist with valid executions and cannot be filled from the current book. Include exact contract, visible range and navigation state in a support ticket, with a screenshot that retains both axes and the relevant controls so the gesture sequence can be reproduced.
