Put GEX, DEX, VEX and CEX levels on a chart
Choose ranked concentrations, source underlyings and gamma references.
Choose concentrations rather than an undefined 'level'
The GEX / DEX / VEX / CEX levels indicator can show ranked concentrations for several modeled sensitivities on an OHLC chart. Gamma, delta, vanna and charm describe different model exposures; their magnitudes and units are not interchangeable. Start with one metric and a small set of ranks so you can understand the resulting lines. The controls allow multiple metrics and call, put, net or gross selections where supported. A line is a projected source concentration, not proof that an exchange order is resting at that futures price.
Add and configure the ranked overlay
Use the OHLC indicator chooser, then adjust this indicator from the applied list rather than changing unrelated chart candles.
- Add GEX / DEX / VEX / CEX levels.
- Select the metrics and supported sides you want to compare.
- Choose one through five ranks per selected side and set distinguishable metric colors.
- On a futures chart, select eligible source underlyings such as SPX, NDX, SPY or QQQ.
- Read availability and omitted-rank notices before interpreting the final set of displayed lines.
Distinguish ranked concentrations from named reference levels
OHLC overlays also support named keys such as call and put walls, gamma flip, gamma flip excluding 0DTE, absolute or major gamma concentrations, MVC, max pain, king strike, vanna extremes, charm concentration, delta key and expected-move bands. These named references and the ranked multi-Greek selections answer related but different questions. Check which indicator and level family is enabled. A label's proximity to current price does not establish equal importance, and a positive exposure is a signed model value rather than an instruction about the next price move.
Understand the futures mapping reference
On a source underlying's own chart, returned source levels can use its native price coordinates. A futures chart needs a matched reference for its exact dated contract. The OHLC overlay uses a completed-session source reference and the matching futures minute. For an index-family mapping, the source strike receives the futures-minus-index reference difference. ETF and cross-family comparisons use a matched reference ratio. This conversion is fixed to eligible completed evidence rather than following each latest futures quote. Changing candle timeframe or reloading should not randomly move the same fixed-reference projection.
Keep source identity and units visible
A mapped display price is rounded to the chart contract's tick size, while the exposure amount retains its original model units. The reference date, source strike, source model time and exact target contract remain part of the evidence. SPX and SPY are separate sources even when both are projected onto ES or MES coordinates. Selecting several sources does not mean their raw exposure magnitudes should be summed without an appropriate model interpretation. Use source and metric colors consistently so several nearby lines remain distinguishable when their screen labels are arranged into separate rows.
Interpret unavailable and omitted ranks
Missing, incomplete, implied or conflicting reference bars can leave a source unavailable. A current chart price cannot replace the required historical completed-session reference. The display also has a finite allocation for selected overlays, so a large combination of metrics, sides, sources and ranks can produce an omitted-rank notice. Reduce the selection deliberately when readability or allocation is the issue. An omitted line is not necessarily a zero-valued source rank, and an unavailable mapping should not be replaced manually by a convenient spot estimate.
Troubleshoot apparent movement or disagreement
Compare the exact target futures contract, source underlying, selected session reference and metric before judging two overlays. Genuine source-strike changes, a new eligible completed session or corrected reference evidence can update a projection. An unrelated live quote alone should not be treated as a new mapping anchor. If labels overlap visually, enlarge the panel and reduce the selected ranks. Include the chart contract, enabled sources, metric sides, ranks and availability message in a support ticket. A screenshot with the indicator settings and price axis is more useful than a cropped line without its source identity.
