Edit your profile and profile picture
Update account details while keeping the verified sign-in email distinct.
Find the account profile
Open Settings → Account to edit how your account appears in OrderMap. The profile form includes the available display name, first name, last name, username, phone, locale, time zone and bio fields. These are account-owned details rather than per-chart settings. Check the read-only email at the top before making changes, especially if you use more than one sign-in address. Editing a display name or username does not switch which account owns your saved layouts, tickets, market subscriptions or developer projects.
Choose values with the intended meaning
Display name is the name shown around the application. First and last name retain their separate profile fields, while username identifies the account's chosen unique handle. Locale can use a value such as en-US, and time zone uses an IANA identifier such as America/New_York. Entering a vague abbreviation such as EST is not equivalent to that identifier across daylight-saving changes. A profile time zone is a personal preference; exchange session eligibility and the trading date shown by a market tool still come from that feature's own market calendar.
Save the form deliberately
Change only the fields you intend to update, then use the profile form's save action and wait for its confirmation. A completed browser edit is not yet a saved account change. Validation can refuse an unavailable username or an unsupported value, and a service error can leave the previous profile in place. Read the field or action error before retrying. When checking success, use the refreshed account details rather than another old settings tab that may still hold an earlier version.
- Open Account and verify the current email.
- Edit the desired profile fields and review their spelling.
- Save the profile form and confirm the successful result.
Upload a profile picture
Use Upload photo to select PNG, JPEG or WebP in the browser picker. The application prepares a square preview and converts the upload to the supported account-picture representation before saving. This workflow is different from ticket attachments: the account-picture service has its own smaller image limits and storage configuration. A large screenshot that can be attached to a ticket is not automatically a suitable avatar. Use a simple, well-cropped source image and inspect the resulting picture at its small on-screen size before relying on it.
Understand independent picture saves
Uploading or removing the picture saves independently of other profile fields. You do not need to save the whole form to commit a completed photo action, and an unsaved bio is not a reason to upload the picture again. Wait for Profile picture updated or the corresponding removal result. Remove clears the saved picture reference. If a storage-unavailable error appears, the action has not established a new saved picture; retain your source file and try the photo action again when the service is available.
Handle concurrent account changes
Account edits use revisions to avoid overwriting a newer saved version. An appearance autosave, another settings tab or another session can advance that revision while the form remains open. A conflict asks you to reload the current account and reapply the intended changes. Copy unsaved text somewhere private before refreshing if necessary. Do not repeatedly submit an old form in the hope that it will force an overwrite. After reloading, compare the latest values and keep any legitimate changes already saved by your other session.
Separate profile identity and privacy
Your verified sign-in email is read-only in this form and cannot be changed here. A profile save cannot grant operator roles, enable a disabled account or rewrite billing ownership. Profile changes can generate essential account-information notices, while appearance preferences do not create the same account-update email. Choose a picture you are comfortable displaying; a publicly hosted avatar can be reachable by its saved URL. If a profile or picture action repeatedly fails, report the specific action, image format if relevant and safe error text, without sending authentication credentials.
