Download an Order Flow chart image
Capture the displayed chart and recognize graphics-context export failures.
Prepare the exact view you want to communicate
Download chart creates a PNG of the displayed Order Flow view. Decide what question the image should show before exporting: a specific footprint candle, a qualified burst, a resting-depth interval or a wider price context. The image reflects the visible configuration rather than every retained raw event. Select the exact contract, time range and mode, and keep the relevant axes and labels visible. A screenshot-style export is most useful when another person can identify the instrument and scope without relying on a separate verbal explanation.
Create a stable chart image
The download action lives in Order Flow Settings alongside pause and other chart actions. Use the chart's own action when you need its composed market and label layers.
- Select the intended contract and choose Mode, Lookback and Interval.
- Pan or zoom to the required time and price region and enable the columns or overlays you need.
- Open Settings and choose Pause if you want to retain a stable displayed frame while preparing the image.
- Use Download chart and wait for the PNG result.
- Open the downloaded image and inspect the market layer, time axis, price labels and selected content before sharing it.
Choose layers for the reader's question
For a footprint question, keep enough candle and row context to show the relevant Bid × ask values and interval. For a bubble question, inspect the pinned details separately if the recipient needs its exact constituent quantities; the circle alone does not identify one trade. For liquidity questions, retain the price and time axes and describe restrictive thresholds that affect brightness. Hiding irrelevant columns can improve readability, but do not crop away the evidence needed to distinguish current Order Book from historical executions or a full-session profile from the visible window.
Understand what Pause and the PNG preserve
Pause retains a displayed frame for visual inspection. It is useful when rapidly changing labels or the current market would otherwise shift between your review and export. It does not create an immutable replay or prove that the full exchange session was captured. The current book, retained execution frame and historical heatmap have their own source semantics. The PNG records that presentation rather than a complete synchronized exchange tape. When discussing it later, include the selected time and whether the display was paused, live or manually panned into history.
Know why an export can be temporarily unavailable
The market rendering uses a graphics context that must be active and have a completed scene before a reliable image can be captured. If the renderer has lost its context, the application explains that Download needs an active graphics context. If no finished scene is ready, it explains that it is waiting for the chart to finish drawing. These messages prevent an apparently successful export that contains a blank market layer. A visible control or previously drawn axis alone does not establish that the underlying chart scene is ready to download.
Recover and inspect the result before retrying
When the chart is still drawing, let the selected view finish and try again after a completed frame appears. For a lost graphics context, allow the renderer to recover; if it remains unavailable, reload the page and restore the intended configuration. Recheck contract and range after recovery rather than exporting a newly reset live window by mistake. Moving between monitors or changing display density can cause the graphics canvas to rebuild, so wait for the restored scene. Inspect the downloaded file itself, not just the browser's download notification, before declaring the market layer complete.
Use the image alongside reproducible settings
A PNG is a visual view, not a raw tick export, historical backup or proof of complete coverage. Keep the relevant template name, mode, interval, row grouping and visible range in your notes when comparing images later. If the problem is a missing market layer or cropped labels, attach the downloaded result to a support ticket and describe the exact export message. If the problem concerns a market value, also include its source and coverage state. This lets support reproduce the displayed question and distinguish a rendering/export issue from unavailable observations or an intentionally filtered view.
